Full or Partial Property Tax Exemption:
Once someone receives Social Security disability benefits, he/she may be able to apply for a disability exemption on their property taxes and may qualify for a full or partial exemption depending on factors other than age or disability. Applications are usually accepted from October 1 to December 31. To apply, bring evidence of social security disability benefit, copy of current year state and federal income tax forms, and a letter from your physician indicating total and permanent disability to your local tax assessor's office.
